Rihanna, Florence Pugh, Anitta and Kendall Jenner have sparked headlines with
their red-carpet appearances in risqué naked dresses. Other actresses have
discovered that they can achieve the same e昀昀ect when they’re mindful of perfect,
thoughtful layering under a sheer gown.
In October, supermodel Grace Elizabeth wore a custom look by Gap creative
director Zac Posen, who blended a sheer T-shirt gown over a high-waisted corset
and bra, all in black. Rooney Mara wore a similarly styled look in ivory at the
Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. Her gown was by Givenchy Haute Couture
and featured hand embroidery in a 昀氀oral motif over boy shorts. Anitta turned
up at the Latin Grammy Awards in Miami in a white gossamer lace corset gown
by PatBo, the Brazilian label designed by Patricia Bonaldi.
