The Legs Have It
Stockings and tights have made a terri昀椀c comeback after years
of bare legs during even the harshest winter days. They’re
here to stay, according to Hollywood stars' latest red carpet
and event appearances. Chloe Bailey’s look by David Koma at
a Ray-Ban event in November consisted of a bodysuit, opaque
black tights paired with thigh-high boots, and an asymmetric
skirt with crystal buckle. When Kaia Gerber appeared at
Vogue’s December issue-release party, she paired a chic little
black dress with the fun and unexpected element of polka-dot
stockings.
For a more provocative statement, it’s all about the garters.
Just ask Carpenter, who wears them often on her tour, including
a baby-yellow ensemble by Victoria’s Secret, which includes
attached garters on a custom crystal-embellished bodysuit.
Perhaps she was in昀氀uenced by her idol, Christina Aguilera, who
has joined Carpenter on tour. Aguilera’s looks include garters,
a Dolce & Gabbana sculpted bra and shorts from the Italian
label’s Spring 2025 collection.
